Video Vault: Ben Revere flips for a triple

He's a "Web Gems" star with his glove, but the Twins' Ben Revere is also a human highlight reel on the basepaths. In a game against the Royals last summer, Revere somersaulted his way from second to third.

Trevor Plouffe to start over Ben Revere

Ben Revere has received most of the attention in the Twins outfield this spring, but don't forget about Trevor Plouffe. The former infielder is transitioning nicely into the outfield and will be starting over Revere in Saturday's exhibition opener against Tampa Bay.

Revere plans to bunt a lot this year

Ben Revere took to the batting cage in Fort Myers on Wednesday and he spent most of his time laying down bunts. Revere had four successful bunt attempts in 2011 -- not nearly as many as a player with his speed should have. This season, the outfielder says he's going to "bunt more than I ever have before."

Revere says he can steal 80-90 bases

Ben Revere set a Twins rookie record on Monday when he stole his 31st and 32nd bases of the season. Luis Rivas had held the record with 31 steals during his rookie season in 2001. Revere now says he is capable of stealing 80-90 bases over the course of a full season.

Twins' Revere increased his arm strength by throwing footballs

Ben Revere says throwing a football in long toss sessions has helped his arm strength a lot. Revere is considered a weak-armed outfielder, but even manager Ron Gardenhire says Revere's throwing has been getting better. The 23-year old speedster joked that he's hoping he has an arm like Ichiro Suzuki now.

Clete Thomas starts fast with the Twins, Revere sent back to minors

Clete Thomas, who was claimed off waivers on Saturday, smashed a two-run homer and showed off his strong arm from the right field corner in his Twins debut on Sunday. His ability to play all three outfield positions allowed the Twins to send Ben Revere back to Triple-A Rochester. GM Terry Ryan says the move will allow Revere to continue to develop by playing every day.
