Blair Walsh earns NFC honors for Sunday's big kicks

Minnesota Vikings rookie kicker Blair Walsh has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against St. Louis last Sunday.

Blair kicked five field goals in the Vikings' 36-22 win over the Rams, three of which were from 50-yards or longer.

Walsh also won the weekly award after Minnesota defeated Jacksonville in Week 1.

Walsh also tied an NFL record of hitting eight field goals from 50-plus yards. He has two more opportunities to set a new mark as Minnesota closes out the regular season at Houston Sunday, and at home against Green Bay Dec. 30.
