The Toronto Blue Jays completed their four game sweep of the Twins with a 9-3 victory Thursday night at Rogers Center.

Edwin Encarnacion had a big night. He was 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBIs, and a pair of doubles. It was Encarnacion who put the Blue Jays on the scoreboard in the first inning. His two-out double brought around Josh Donaldson, putting the Jays on top.

Donaldson continued to swing his hot bat against the Twins, with an RBI single in the third inning. Encarnacion followed moments later with a two-run blast that quickly made it 4-0.

Ben Revere added three hits and scored three runs.

Toronto wasn't just doing it with the bat either. Mark Buehrle (12-5) gave them a solid seven innings on the mound, holding the Twins to three runs on five hits. It's the 30th time Buehrle has beaten the Twins.

And then there was the Blue Jays' defense.

Things didn't go nearly as well for the Twins. Starter Kyle Gibson (8-9) was roughed up, allowing eight runs on nine hits in just 4 2/3 innings. It's the second straight short start in Toronto for the Twins rotation.

Trevor Plouffe and Aaron Hicks provided the only real offensive highlights for the Twins. Plouffe blasted a two-run homer to cut the Blue Jays lead in half at 4-2 in the fourth. He finished 1-for-4.

Toronto ended Minnesota's hopes with a four run fifth inning. Hicks hit a solo home run after most of the damage was done by Toronto.

The sweep dropped the Twins to .500 on the season at 54-54.

The Twins head for Cleveland to open a weekend series with the Indians. Mike Pelfrey (5-7) starts for Minnesota against Cody Anderson (2-3).
