Blue Jays rally to snap Minnesota's 5-game winning streak

The Minnesota Twins' five game-winning streak came to a frustrating conclusion Friday night, as the team fell 6-4 to the Toronto Blue Jays.

Former Twin Chris Colabello hit a two-run home run off of Glen Perkins with no one out in the top of the ninth inning to give the Blue Jays the lead.

Perkins was not amused.

The Toronto lead would stand up, as Blue Jays starter Mark Buerhle twirled a complete game. After a first inning in which he was roughed up for four runs on five hits, Buerhle held the Twins to one hit the rest of the night.

For Buerhle it was his 29th victory against the Twins – more than any other pitcher against the Twins in team history.

Toronto used its high-powered offense to get back in the game. Trailing 4-1 in the fifth, Toronto's Josh Donaldson smashed a three-run homer to tie the game. It was his fourth straight game with a home run.

Donaldson finished 2-for-5 with the home run and a double on the night. While Colabello's home run was his only hit of the night.

Twins starter Trevor May finished six innings, but also allowed four runs and did not factor in the decision. Perkins was tagged with the loss, his first of the season.

No Twin had more than one hit. Brian Dozier was 1-for-4 and, doubling and scoring Minnesota's first run in the first inning.

The Twins hope to turn their fortunes around Saturday afternoon when they send Kyle Gibson (4-3) to the mound against Toronto's Aaron Sanchez (4-4).
