No Blues; Wild goaltender Curry quiets St. Louis in first start

The Wild won another game on Thursday night. They defeated the St. Louis Blues 4-2.

It was a strange night for the Wild, who won despite being dramatically outshot 45-15. Goaltender John Curry was under fire early and often. In his first start with the Wild, Curry stopped a season-high 43 shots.

Kyle Brodziak had a big night for the Wild. He had a pair of goals in the game to lead the Wild. Nino Niederreiter also had a big night, he had a goal and an assist.

Niederreiter put the Wild on the scoreboard first, with his 14th goal of the season. He was assisted by Jon Blum, who scored his first point as a member of the Wild.

After Kevin Shattenkirk scored his 10th goal of the season to even the score, the Wild reclaimed the lead just over a minute later as Brodziak scored short-handed to put the Wild up 2-1.

Jaden Schwantz added a short handed goal for St. Louis to even the score at 2. Again though the Wild were able to respond quickly once again as Matt Moulson scored just 90 seconds later.

Brodziak scored again early in the third to put Minnesota up two, and it stayed that way.

One of the more serious moments of the game came when the Wild's Mike Rupp was ejected after this big hit on St. Louis forward, and Minnesota native T.J. Oshie.

Oshie was able to skate off the ice under his own power, but he did not return.

The Wild wrap up the regular season against Nashville on Sunday.
