The State of Hockey has a couple of new stars that will command the public's attention for years to come: seventh grader Uma Corniea and ninth grader Sadie Lindsay.

Lindsay scored the game-winning goal eight seconds into overtime of the girls' Class A state championship game, giving Breck a 3-2 win over Warroad at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

“It was one of the greatest feelings of my life, honestly,” Lindsay told Minnesota Hockey Magazine. “To win the state championship has always been a huge dream of mine and it’s a dream come true to win.”

Corniea, still a couple of years from getting her driver's license, started in goal for Breck and made 25 saves in the win.

According to Follow The Puck, she was the Youth Hockey Hub Goalie of the Year for Edina peewees in 2017.

Beyond the storyline of two underclass students starring for Breck, the game was fantastic. Breck took a 2-1 lead late in the third period before Warroad forced overtime with tying goal on a rebound by Marlie Johnston with just 27 seconds to play.

Edina beats Centennial for 2A crown

The 2A title game was as tight as they get, with neither team scoring in the opening period.

Edina, the defending champ, went up 1-0 midway through the second period on a goal by Emily Oden before Centennial's Gabbie Hughes scored the equalizer on a power play near the end of the second.

Edina then scored the winning goal just 2:39 into the third period when Aliyah Lance found the back of the net on a power play.
