Brett Favre failed his MNF tryout? He says that's not the case

Favre as a TV broadcaster? Apparently he's thought about it.

Brett Favre replacing Jon Gruden as the analyst on Monday Night Football?

Don't count on it, according to the New York Post, which says he auditioned for the job but it didn't go well.

"Favre recently came in for one of the auditions, according to sources. Though it was unclear if Favre would even want the job, sources said he was not great during the tryout and has been told he is no longer under consideration."

Favre though is saying his audition went just fine.

"Wanted to clear something up from today’s press on me & ESPN," Favre tweeted. "Truth is I had a good meeting about possibly joining the MNF crew."

ESPN is searching for a new analyst to join play-by-play man Sean McDonough on Monday Night Football. Jon Gruden was the analyst but is now the head coach of the Oakland Raiders.

Favre hasn't played in the NFL since 2010, when he suffered a concussion while playing for the Vikings at TCF Bank Stadium.
