Bucs cut Freeman; Will Vikings go after him?

Josh Freeman was cut by the Buccaneers on Thursday.

The moves comes after more than a week of awkwardness involving the former first-round pick and the winless Bucs.

Yahoo! Sports suggests Freeman's potential suitors are the Vikings, Cardinals, Raiders and Browns.

Where Freeman ends up is anyone's guess, but the speculation and opinions are finding their place on Twitter.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported earlier this week that Freeman was in stage one of the NFL's substance abuse program. Further detail of what substance Freeman was allegedly in the program for hasn't been revealed. Freeman maintains that he has passed all 46 drug tests he's taken during his career.

Buccaneers offensive lineman Donald Penn felt sorry for Freeman when talking with NFL Sirius radio on Tuesday.

“It’s just real tough. I feel bad for Josh being put in this situation,” Penn said. “You know, the stuff that came out yesterday and stuff like that, it’s like they’re really trying to bring him down and Josh is a great guy. Josh is a very humble spirit. He’s a very good guy. He’s a very good person and he really cares about him teammates and cares about his team.”

The Daily Norseman wants nothing to do with Freeman, and they defend their case quite well.

Note: Freeman threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns in a win over the Vikings at Mall-of-America Field last season.
