The Twins are sending seven of its top prospects to the Arizona Fall League.

Top prospect Byron Buxton, along with pitching prospects Alex Meyer, Trevor May, Eddie Rosario, Max Kepler, A.J. Achter and Zach Jones will play for the Glendale Desert Dogs in October and November.

"I think we felt like he's shown he's ready from a skill perspective," Twins farm director Brad Steil said of Buxton. "As mature as he is, I think he can go out there and handle being in that type of environment. We wanted him to get the opportunity to face a little bit better pitching before the end of the season, so I think it was a good fit."

The Star Tribune calls the Arizona Fall League "a six-week gathering of some of the best prospects from across minor-league baseball."

The Pioneer Press reports that 60-percent of players that play in the Arizona Fall League go on to play Major League Baseball.
