By the numbers: 3 super stats from Vikings-Bears game

MINNEAPOLIS -- Regarding the Vikings win over the Bears Sunday at Mall of America Field, when it comes to numbers-behind-the-numbers -- chew on these three:

That's how many games are left in the Minnesota Vikings' 2012 season. At St. Louis. At Houston. Green Bay at home. Can the 7-6 Vikings -- with little or no passing game -- get into the playoffs? They'll likely have to win all three to get there.

That's the single-season NFL rushing record, set by Eric Dickerson. If Adrian Peterson is to break that record, he'll have to average 169 yards in the last three games. Can he do it? At this point, betting against him seems foolish. Even more impressive, he has a shot at this record on a team with -- little or no passing game. Incredible.

That's how many return yards Harrison Smith and Josh Robinson compiled with their two interceptions. It was nine more yards than Ponder's entire day passing (91). As the Star Tribune's Chip Scoggins puts it: "It's the latest indictment on the team's feeble passing game."
