Playoffs?

Yep. The Vikings got there all right. And they laid another Purple egg. Not that the state of Minnesota isn't extremely proud of a 3-13 team rallying to 10-6 the very next year and making the postseason, but did it have to end so soon?

Yes, it did. And, as usual, the numbers tell the story. Here are three that jump out at us after the 24-10 Webb-for-Ponder Saturday shellacking:

99

That's how many rushing yards Adrian Peterson had Saturday night.  The Packers finally figured out how to stop the soon-to-be MVP. The three-game total given up by the Pack to AP this year: 508. But, when it counted: 99. As Pioneer Press writer Brian Murphy put it: "round three was no contest."

10

That's how many receivers Aaron Rodgers threw to Saturday night, which is an NFL playoff record. It was also Rodgers' first playoff win at Lambeau Field.

6

That's how many net passing yards Vikings quarterback Joe Webb had in the first half. He was a bit rusty, being that he was the first QB in NFL history to enter a playoff game without throwing a pass during the regular season.
