Caleb Truax rocks Donovan George for sixth-round KO

Minnesota's own Caleb Truax put up his gloves on national television as ESPN2's "Friday Night Fights" was at the Minneapolis Convention Center for Truax's bout against Donovan George.

Truax delivered a crushing blow to the chin of George for a sixth-round knockout -- and fans could see it coming the entire fight.

After feeling out George the first two minutes of the first-round, Truax delivered right hand after right hand to George's chin, putting the Convention Center crowd in a frenzy in the final 60 seconds of the first.

In an interview with KFAN-FM 100.3 earlier this week, Truax said he would be able to take advantage of George's aggressive style and catch him with counter-punches.

As it turned out, the Osseo native wound up being the aggressor. He visibly shook George with powerful right hands again and again in the second and third rounds -- landing 23 of 45 power punches in the third.

Rounds four and five weren't as dominant for Truax, but he wasn't a clear loser of either round.

Truax (22-1-1) became only the second man to knock George out.

BMTN's Rick Kupchella was at the bout and put together this ringside photo gallery.

As for a roundup of the fight, Fox 9 offered that "Truax was his cereberal self in his six-round knockout performance ... Truax peppered George for the majority of the six rounds before finally finishing him off with a devistating right hand that caught the Chicagoan behind the ear." says "Truax dominated from the start and a right to the ear finished George."

And BoxingNews24 says Truax "manhandled" George in a "surprise."
