The amazing run to seven consecutive NCAA Division II Volleyball National Championships has come to an end for Concordia University of St. Paul.

The Golden Bears, who were ranked No. 3 in the country coming into this weekend's Central Region Volleyball Tournament, fell to No. 4 Southwest Minnesota State University 3-1 on Friday night in the semifinals.

The Golden Bears had won every division II national volleyball championship going all the way back to 2007.

In 2013, they became the first volleyball program in NCAA history – at any level – to capture seven straight NCAA Championships.

The run was the fourth-longest championship run in any women's sport at the division II level.

During the match on Friday night, Concordia hit just .169 and committed 24 attack errors and Southwest hitter Abbey Thissen recorded a match high 20 kills.

The Mustangs advance to the regional championship on Saturday night against either Minnesota Duluth or Wayne State (NE).
