Chaska's Kegel flips commit from Gophers to Oklahoma State

Chaska offensive lineman Matt Kegel announced Tuesday that he's dropping his commitment to the Gophers and re-opening his recruiting.

That opening didn't last long. Kegel, a 6-foot-5, 303-pound three-star guard, via 247 Sports, announced on

" target="_blank">Twitter Wednesday morning that he's going to Oklahoma State to play for the Cowboys.

In his first tweet, announcing his withdrawal from the U of M, Kegel wrote:

"Coach Kill's words come to mind in not wanting to cheat the university, the football program, my Empire brothers [fellow Gophers recruits], or another player's opportunity if I am not 100% committed to the direction of the program."

Kegel is the fifth recruit to decommit from the Gophers since Tracy Claeys took over as head coach for Jerry Kill, the majority of which have come after offensive coordinator Matt Limegrover and quarterbacks coach Jim Zebrowski were fired.

But it hasn't been all bad for Claeys as former East Ridge quarterback Seth Green, along with Eden Prairie defensive back Antoine Winfield Jr., committed to the Gophers over the weekend.
