Gophers football coach Tracy Claeys adjusted coaching assignments on the Gophers football staff as Minnesota prepares for the 2015 Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit.

Claeys named tight end coach Rob Reeves as the offensive coordinator for the game. According to the Star Tribune, Reeves has been a coach with Claeys on Jerry Kill's staff since 1996 when they were all at Saginaw Valley State and Reeves was a graduate assistant.

Reeves has served as the tight ends and H-backs coach at Minnesota since 2011. He also coached running backs at Northern Illinois and Southern Illinois before coming to Minnesota.

With Reeves calling the plays for the game, offensive quality control assistant Nate Griffin will coach the tight ends. Offensive graduate assistant Trevor Olson and special teams quality control Jay Nunez will coach the offensive line and offensive graduate assistant Adam Weber will coach the quarterbacks.

Jay Sawvel will be Minnesota's defensive coordinator and Dan O'Brien, who joined Minnesota's coaching staff Nov. 30 as the co-special teams coordinator, assistant defensive backs coach and assistant to the head coach, will make his coaching debut in the game.

Running backs coach Pat Poore will also begin working as the co-special teams coordinator for the bowl.

Despite their 5-7 finish to the season, the Gophers qualified for the bowl Sunday. They will meet Central Michigan on Dec. 28 at Ford Field in Detroit.
