Twins: Span couldn't go through with MRI, admits he's claustrophobic

A bout of claustrophobia kept Denard Span from getting an MRI on his clavicle Tuesday. Span was given valium and strapped to a table, but he wasn't able to go through with being crammed in the MRI scanner. Afterward, he admitted that he is claustrophobic and he "didn't have enough valium."

Denard Span took batting practice on Wednesday and he believes he's getting closer to playing again. "If my shoulder is ready to go, I'm going to play; if it's not ready to go, there's nothing I can do about it," he said. Span's goal is to play in the upcoming series against Texas.
