Clutterbuck inks deal with Islanders, joins Bouchard out east

Cal Clutterbuck spent six seasons with the Minnesota Wild before being traded to New York for Nino Niederrieter less than a week ago.

When Clutterbuck was traded he was a restricted free agent, so the Islanders still had some work to do to reel in the enforcer.

Today the work is done, as he has assured himself at least a few more seasons in the league, agreeing to a four-year, $11 million deal with the New York.

Clutterbuck posted ten points and 27 penalty minutes in 42 games with the Wild last season. He joins legendary Minnesota center Pierre Marc-Bouchard as the most recent Wild veteran to head to the Islanders.

Marc-Bouchard agreed on a one-year, $2 million deal with New York last Thursday.
