Cobbers beat up on Augsburg in Moorhead

Neal shines in a big Cobber victory

Concordia defeated Augsburg 47-20 on Saturday in Moorhead. Cobber quarterback Griffin Neal had an outstanding game in the victory. Neal completed 19 of 21 passes for 281 yards and four touchdowns.

That sparked a Cobber offensive attack that amassed 430 yards.

Neal threw two touchdown passes to Mark Whiting, he also found Brandon Zylstra and Jon Baune for touchdown connections.

The Cobber defense also rose to the occasion, as they intercepted Augsburg quarterback Ayrton Scott three times.

Concordia (6-1) will play at Carleton. Augsburg (4-3) will host St. Thomas.

Carleton wins shootout with St. Olaf

Carleton College was an amazing 12 of 17 on third down conversions in the game as they went on for a 42-37 victory over St. Olaf on Saturday.

It was the seventh straight loss for St. Olaf.

Carleton's Conner Lynch tossed three touchdown passes as did St. Olaf's Nate Penz as the two dueled.

Lynch's favorite target was Anthony Kemper he caught 12 passes for 176 yards and all three of the touchdowns to lead the offense for Carleton. Lynch also ran for 54 yards and a pair of scores.

On the other side, Joel Reinhardt caught eight passes for 211 yards and two scores.

Carleton (4-3) hosts Concordia next week. St. Olaf (1-7) is off next week they play at Bethel in two weeks.

Bethel remains unbeaten as they roll Gustavus

Bethel outscored Gustavus 28-7 in the second half as they went on for a 41-17 victory on Saturday in Arden Hills.

Balance was the name of the attack for Bethel. Erik Peterson threw two touchdowns and ran for a third to lead the way for Bethel.

Mitch Hallstrom caught eight passes for 135 yards and two scores.

The Bethel defense also made some big plays as they intercepted three Mitch Hendricks passes. Two of those interceptions came from Landon Mathis as he had a big day to lead the Bethel defense.

Bethel (7-0) plays at Hamline next Saturday. Gustavus (4-3) is at St. John's next week.
