College Hockey Roundup: Caggiula's hat trick lifts Fighting Hawks

Jimmy Murray had a goal and an assist, but it wasn't enough as St. Cloud State fell to North Dakota 4-3 Friday night in St. Cloud.

Drake Caggiula had a hat trick for the Fighting Hawks, in the victory. It was North Dakota's first game after unveiling their new nickname earlier in the week.

North Dakota goaltender Matt Hrnkiw posted a career high 36 saves.

The series will continue on Saturday in St. Cloud.

Mavericks and Northern Michigan skate to a tie

Brad McClure scored the Mavericks only goal in a 1-1 tie between Minnesota State and Northern Michigan.

The Mavericks outshot Northern Michigan 31-15, but Northern Michigan goaltender Atte Tolvanen made 30 saves to keep the Wildcats in the game.

Northern Michigan evened it up on goal from Cohen Adair moments later.

The WCHA series continues on Saturday.

Lake Superior State upends Bemidji State at home

Bemidji State fell on their home ice Friday night to Lake Superior State 3-2.

Gus Correale, Mitch Hults and Anthony Nellis all had the goals for Lake Superior State. Kyle Chatham had a pair of assists in the victory.

Graeme McCormack had a goal and an assist to lead Bemidji in the loss.
