Cousins-Thielen-Diggs is among the best QB-WR trios in the NFL

This includes wide receivers and tight ends.

The addition of Kirk Cousins doesn't give Minnesota the most-feared passing attack in the NFL, but it's certainly among the best going into the 2018 season.

Free agency is ongoing and the NFL Draft is yet to come, but as of now, there aren't many quarterback-wide receiver/tight end trios more impressive than Minnesota's trio of Cousins, Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs.

Here's how I see it.

1. Tom Brady, Brandin Cooks, Rob Gronkowski

Who's going to place the Patriots anywhere else? Brady threw for 505 yards, 3 touchdowns and no interceptions in the Super Bowl, and he did that despite Cooks leaving the game early with a concussion. The only way we wouldn't rank the Patriots at the top is if Gronk quits football for a career in the WWE or Hollywood.

2. Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, JuJu Smith -Schuster

Big Ben (4,251 yards, 28 TD last season) and Brown are still the most dynamic QB-WR duo in the NFL, and the emergence of Smith-Schuster late last season (98 yards per game over final seven games) was electrifying.

3. Carson Wentz, Alshon Jeffery, Zach Ertz

Wentz figures to return from his torn ACL in time for the 2018 season opener, but will he be the same if he's unable to play with reckless abandon? Jeffery played all of 2017 with a shoulder injury so he should be even better in 2018, and Ertz is among the best tight ends in the league.

4. Kirk Cousins, Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen

Diggs and Thielen were arguably the best wide receiver duo in the NFL last season, combining for 155 catches, 2,125 yards and 12 touchdowns – and they did that despite Diggs missing two games and Thielen playing late in the season with painful fractures in his back. Cousins, despite what some people say about Case Keenum, is a clear upgrade at quarterback, making Minnesota's passing threat even more dangerous.

5. Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, Jimmy Graham

Let's be clear, the Packers wouldn't be here with any other quarterback, but that's how much respect Rodgers deserves. So long as Rodgers can't overcome his sadness with Jordy Nelson's departure, he should be able to continue making Davante Adams look like a superstar, and he'll certainly elevate Jimmy Graham's already awesome potential.

Honorable mentions:

  • Drew Brees, Michael Thomas, Ted Ginn Jr.
  • Derek Carr, Amari Cooper, Jordy Nelson
  • Matthew Stafford, Golden Tate, Marvin Jones
  • Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Mohammad Sanu
  • Case Keenum, Damaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders
  • DeShaun Watson, DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller

One that we just can't rank quite yet is Kansas City, where second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes will lead an offense that's loaded with playmakers: Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins and Travis Kelce, not to mention 2017's NFL rushing leader, Kareem Hunt.
