Owner Jerry Jones isn't the only person affiliated with the Dallas Cowboys, who would like to have Adrian Peterson play for Dallas in 2015.

Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant told TMZ Sports Sunday night that he'd love to play alongside AP.

"Truthfully if that could happen, I would love it. We're both from east Texas and we both believe in the same things – as much as he loves the game, I love the game the same way. I think it'd be something very special."

The Cowboys have been connected to Peterson for months, going back to his suspension from the NFL after pleading no contest to a reckless assault charge stemming from his indictment on a child abuse charge last September.

Talk of a Peterson trade hit a crescendo in the months and weeks leading up to the NFL Draft and at one point Peterson's agent, Ben Dogra, was involved in a verbal altercation with a Vikings official.

But as Fox Sports Southwest notes, the window for any movement involving Peterson appears to have closed. According to the report, the Vikings were interested in acquiring 2015 draft picks in such a deal, but that didn't happen.

Vikings general manager Rick Spielman has said all along that the team wasn't interested in trading AP, and so far has stuck to his word.

But the talk from the Cowboys camp really hasn't stopped. Jones told a Dallas radio station last week he might consider trading a 2016 first-round pick if it could make the Cowboys better this season.

After losing the NFL's leading rusher, DeMarco Murray, to Philadelphia in free agency, the Cowboys still have a big hole to fill in the backfield.
