Cris Carter: If Jerry Rice used stickum, he cheated
How did former Vikings wide receiver Cris Carter make all of those amazing catches during his Hall of Fame NFL career?
Raw. Natural. Talent.
Carter is doing his best to keep his name, and his hands, clean after 49ers Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice created a firestorm when he told ESPN that he used stickum during the 1990s. Stickum is an illegal substance that makes catching footballs easier. Rice said everyone was doing it.
Rice admitted that he used stickum in January, but it didn't make any noise up until about a week ago.

Nobody can say for sure if Rice would have broken fewer records without stickum, but Carter didn't seem to care when he told a fan on Twitter that Rice cheated.
Carter finished his career with 1,101 catches for 13,889 yards and 130 touchdowns.
