The Cubs scored three runs in the 10th inning to take a 4-1 win over the Twins Saturday afternoon at Target Field.

Starting pitcher Trevor May had a good day on the mound, allowing one run and seven hits in his six innings, reports.

May leads Minnesota pitchers with 65 strikeouts, according to the Twins.

Kurt Suzuki put up the lone Twin run with a solo homer in the second. It is his third homer of the season.

The Twins had scoring opportunities in the eighth and ninth innings but had three outs on the basepaths, the Star Tribune reports.

Byron Buxton led off the eighth inning with a walk. He tried to make it to second base on a fly ball by Brian Dozier, but he was thrown out at second.

Then Eddie Rosario made it to first on a single, but he strayed too far off the base and was thrown out by Cubs catcher David Ross to end the inning, according to the Star Tribune.

Then in the ninth, Joe Mauer led off with a walk and stole second base on a close tag. He was initially ruled safe but the Cubs challenged the call. The replay showed Mauer slid off the bag while still being tagged, and he was called out, according to

It was the third sell-out crowd of the season with more than 40,000 in attendance.

The Twins and Cubs are tied in the three-game series, heading into the Sunday Father's Day closer. Kyle Gibson will start as the Twins pitcher. Game begins at 1:10 p.m.
