"I run yards like Swiss chard."
That's what Dalvin Cook said after he was recently named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week following a recent game and it left media members on the press call with the NFL's leading rusher wondering what the heck he was talking about.
The analogous line, which makes no sense since green leafy vegetables can't run, was never really explained by Cook. But the mystery was solved when Jimmy Fallon unveiled on "The Tonight Show" that it was part of an elaborate plan to get NFL players to use strange phrases during their regular press conferences. Along with Cook, NFL stars Rob Gronkowski, D.K. Metcalf, Ryan Tannehill, Allen Robinson, Terrell Edmunds, Jalen Ramsey and Travis Kelce participated in the scheme.
Cook is averaging 119.3 rushing yards per game, putting him on pace to finish the season with 1,908 yards. He's also on pace to finish with 24 rushing touchdowns.
