BOSTON -- Scott Diamond, making his third start since returning from the disabled list, put together his best performance of season. The left-hander tossed seven shutout innings, lifting the Twins to a 6-1 win over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park Tuesday night.

Ryan Dempster was equally as impressive for Boston. The former Chicago Cubs starter didn't allow a run until Ryan Doumit scored on a single by Wilkin Ramirez in the fifth.

The Twins took a 2-0 lead in the seventh on an opposite field home run by Doumit. The home run call was upheld after being reviewed because a fan reached forward to catch the ball just before it cleared the Green Monster. It was Doumit's first homer of the season.

After that, the Twins broke the game open in the eighth inning, scoring four more runs.
