MINNEAPOLIS -- The 2014 All-Star Game will be held at Target Field, Commissioner Bud Selig announced Wednesday afternoon in Minneapolis.

"To the entire Pohlad family, to the the Twins organization ... this is a great day ... this will be a great thing for you, it's been earned by all parties involved," Selig said. "We'll see you in a few years."

The Pioneer Press says the majority of tickets to the game will go to Twins season ticket holders with very limited tickets available to the public. Twins' President Dave St. Peter told the newspaper All-Star events in Kansas City last month generated an estimated $60 million. St. Peter says the Twin Cities could exceed that.

The Twins have hosted the All-Star Game twice. The first was in 1965 at Metropolitan Stadium and again in 1985 at the Metrodome.
