Dozier's two homers power Twins to 8-1 win over White Sox
The Twins cruised to an 8-1 win over the White Sox Sunday in Chicago thanks to two Brian Dozier home runs. The Twins are leaving Chicago after winning two of three games in the weekend series.
Dozier hit his first homer in the first inning, a solo shot. It marked his ninth career leadoff home run, according to the Pioneer Press.
His second home run came in the seventh and brought in three runs, MLB.com reports.
Eddie Rosario had two hits and two RBIs. Torii Hunter added an RBI.
Pitcher Kyle Gibson matched his career high with eight strikeouts, KSTP reports. He didn't allow any walks.
Gibson lowered his ERA to 2.72. He did allow a homer from White Sox Jose Abreu, which was Chicago's only run.
The Twins are now 25- 18 and on a two-game win streak.
The Twins are back in town Monday, hosting the Boston Red Sox in a Memorial Day game at 1:10 p.m. It's the first game in a three-game series.
