Former Gopher Quarterback and Vikings Defensive Coordinator Tony Dungy headlines a list of 16-first time nominees on the 2014 Pro Football Hall of Fame ballot.

The list, 126 people in all, also includes quarterbacks Phil Simms and Steve Mcnair, who was murdered in 2009.

The running back list is thick with recognizable names, including Shaun Alexander, Terrell Davis, Priest Holmes, Tiki Barber, Jerome Bettis, and Ottis Anderson.

The pass catchers up for The Hall rounds out the skill positions on offense, and boasts tons of mid-90s glory. The likes of Marvin Harrison, Rod Smith, Keenan McCardell, Keyshawn Johnson, Tim Brown, and Sterling Sharpe are all up for judgement.

Others with Vikings ties? There are plenty.

Former running backs Roger Craig and Herschel Walker, who was the centerpiece of what might be the worst trade in Minnesota sports history, are among purple possibilities. Former safety Joey Browner has been on the ballot before but never been a finalist, and amounts to the most likely with Viking ties aside from Dungy to get the call.

Former QB Randall Cunningham, offensive lineman Chris Hinton, and kickers Morten and Gary Anderson also have their chance. The Andersons are No. 1 and 2 on the NFL's all-time points scored list.
