Eddie Lacy isn't as fat and that might be bad for the Vikings

It looks like the Packers got what they wanted with running back Eddie Lacy showing up to training camp a lot lighter than he did last season.

Lacy racked up at least 1,100 rushing yards in each of his first two seasons before sliding all the way down to 758 yards last season. Packers coach Mike McCarthy called him out after the season saying the former Alabama star cannot play at the weight he did last season, according to ESPN.

Lacy's listed weight was 234 pounds but reports indicated he was more like 260.

His current weight hasn't been revealed but in April he was reportedly down 14-18 pounds and ESPN's Rob Demovsky thought Lacy looked even slimmer when the Packers began training camp Tuesday. MMQB's Peter King was at Packers' camp and he thought Lacy looked to be in the 235-240 range.

One thing is certain: When he's going good he's been trouble for the Vikings. Here's what Lacy has done against Minnesota in six career games.

  • 29 carries, 94 yards, 1 TD
  • 25 carries, 110 yards, 1 TD
  • 13 carries, 105 yards, 2 TD
  • 25 carries, 125 yards, 1 TD
  • 22 carries, 100 yards, 0 TD
  • 13 carries, 34 yards, 0 TD

Granted, the Vikings weren't very good in 2013 and 2014 when Lacy did most of his damage against Minnesota. The Vikings and Packers meet for the first time in 2016 on Sept. 18 in the home opener at U.S. Bank Stadium.
