Eden Prairie golfer hits 2 hole-in-one shots in 5 days

It's been estimated that an amateur golfer has a 12,500-to-1 chance of ever getting a hole-in-one shot. Which makes it all the more remarkable that Wendy Anderson of Eden Prairie would get two – in the span of five days, FOX 9 reports.

Anderson told FOX she was shaking, screaming and high-fiving friends the first time she hit the ball off the hole No. 17 tee and watched it drop in the cup at Olympic Hills course in Eden Prairie on Friday. The second time she did it, on the 105-yard hole 12 on Tuesday, she fell silent. "We didn't scream on this one. We were in shock," she told FOX.

There are about 10 to 14 aces on the course each season, a lead golf instructor at Olympic Hills told FOX.

While aces are rare, there are no shortage each year of media reports about them. A father and his 13-year-old son in Texas each had a hole-in-one in a Father's Day round this year. The New York Times reported that a 102-year-old woman and a 101-year-old man are among those who have achieved the feat, and the newspaper noted that an Arizona golfer had two aces in consecutive days in 2009. Tiger Woods had his first hole-in-one at age 6, the Times reported.

But the shot is rare enough that even pros get excited by it. Among the recent examples was Shawn Stefani, who hit a hole-in-one at the U.S. Open last month:
