"College GameDay" host Rece Davis broke news Friday afternoon when he casually announced that Eric Decker will be the celebrity guest picker during the ESPN broadcast Saturday morning.
GameDay will broadcast from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. in front of the Northrop Auditorium less than a mile from TCF Bank Bank Stadium, and Decker will make his college football picks, including who he thinks will win the main event between the Gophers (10-1) and Badgers (9-2) at 2:30 p.m.
Decker, a graduate of Rocori High School in central Minnesota, starred for the Gophers from 2006-09 and racked up 227 catches for 3,119 yards and 24 touchdowns.
He went on to be drafted by the Broncos in the third round (87th overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft, the start of an eight-year NFL career in which he caught 439 passes for 5,816 yards and 53 touchdowns.
At 32 years old, Decker is retired from the NFL.
Like all of the fans that will be in attendance for the broadcast and game, Decker will have need to brave the elements as a winter storm is forecast to be hitting Friday night through Sunday morning.
