ESPY winner, motocross star Ryan Dungey back in MN for race, charity ride
Fresh off winning an ESPY Wednesday night for the Best Action Sports Athlete, Minnesota native Ryan Dungey is returning to his home state where he will be racing this weekend.
According to KSTP, Dungey will race Saturday in Millville as part of the La Crescent Wine and Spirit Spring Creek National Round 8: Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.
The Belle Plaine native is currently leading the circuit. He'll be looking for his third championship and fourth win at Spring Creek.
But that's not the only reason for his return to Minnesota. On Sunday, Dungey plans to host a charity bike ride and run with the St. Jude RIDE MN Major and 5K Run to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
KSTP notes that a patient and motocross fan who goes by the name Abby has pledged to raise $10,000 for the ride – Dungey has agreed to match every donation Abby receives up to $50,000.

According to KARE 11, this will be the third year of the event, which was created in an effort to fight against children's cancer. All proceeds will benefit St. Jude's research.
