A fan spotted Jimmy Butler playing basketball at Life Time Athletic in Minneapolis on Thursday and took full advantage of the opportunity to heckle him.
The fan opened the door to the basketball court and said: "Hey Jimmy, Woj (ESPN reporter Adrian Wojnarowksi) just tweeted that you got traded to the Kings."
Butler took it in stride and the fan continued: "You got traded to the Kings, Woj bomb. Good luck, man."
Sacramento is probably the last place Butler wants to go. That said, he'd probably prefer it to staying in Minnesota considering he's asked for a trade and has yet to join the Wolves for any of their training camp practices this week.
Meanwhile, plenty of trade speculation continues about the 29-year-old superstar. Here's the latest.
Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston reports that the Rockets are making a "strong effort" to land Butler.
Any deal the Rockets offer would almost have to include shooting guard Eric Gordon, whose $13 million salary would help make the money match. Gordon would also provide Minnesota with a true 3-point threat, although his defense would leave something to be desired.
Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer says the Wolves received an offer from the 76ers but Thibodeau essentially blew that offer out of proportion by asking for young star Ben Simmons.
Check back later today, we're pretty confident another round of rumors will be available by then.
