The next time you're about to say something mean about bicyclists, remember that one of the toughest football players of all time compares riding a bike to getting hit by linebackers.

In an interview on Lance Armstrong's podcast, Favre compared riding 60 miles on a bike to getting beat up during an NFL game. The game he compared a recent ride went on was the 2009 Vikings-49ers game that ended with Favre hitting Greg Lewis in the back of the end zone for a touchdown.

"I remember going home that night ... that was probably the most exhausted I'd ever been," said Favre. "Thankfully we won. But I just went home and my feet were hanging off the bed, my eyes were sunk back in my head, I was cramping. I was 41 years old. I got hit every play – and every play counted. And there was 94 plays and it was a dry, kind of warm climate in that dome. It started out at 70 but when you put 85,000 ... "

"The only difference was that every mile someone didn't come out of the woods and drill me off the bike."

Favre said the 94 plays were 22 more than an offense usually runs in a game.

Favre and Armstrong joined former NFL/MLB star Bo Jackson for "Bo Bikes Bama," a 60- or- 20-mile ride that raises money for disaster relief in Alabama.

Jackson started the charity ride two years after the super tornado outbreak of April 27, 2011, killed nearly 350 people in the deep south.
