Flagrant elbow means Vince Carter won't face Wolves tonight

The Timberwolves will try to stop a two-game losing streak when the play host to the Dallas Mavericks tonight at Target Center.

Minnesota lost at Cleveland, and at home to the Golden State Warriors earlier this week.

The good news for Wolves' fans is that veteran guard Vince Carter won't play tonight. He's been suspended for the game thanks to a wild elbow he threw at the face of Thunder rookie Steven Adams this week.

The bigger challenges tonight will be slowing down Dirk Nowitzki and Monta Ellis. This will be Minnesota's first look at Ellis in a Mavericks uniform. Ellis leads Dallas at 24 points a game.

  • Minnesota starters: Ricky Rubio, Kevin Martin, Corey Brewer, Kevin Love, Nikola Pekovic
  • Dallas starters: Jose Calderon, Monta Ellis, Shawn Marion, Dirk Nowitzki, Samuel Dalembert
