It looks like what's gone around has come around for former Vikings quarterback Matt Cassel.

According to ESPN's Ed Werder, the Dallas Cowboys will make a change at starting quarterback, going with Cassel over Brandon Weeden when they return from their bye on Oct. 25.

Weeden has gone 0-3 in his three starts since he took over for Tony Romo, who is out with a broken collarbone. Pro Football Talk notes that runs Weeden's record to 0-11 over his last 11 NFL starts.

While Weeden hasn't played that poorly, completing 64-of-91 passes for 666 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions over his last three starts, Werder notes the Cowboys hope going to Cassel can help bring some life back to their offense.

Cassel last played a full game during Week 2 of 2014, when he threw four interceptions for the Vikings in a 30-7 loss to New England. He suffered a season-ending injury the following week at New Orleans.

The Vikings went to Teddy Bridgewater, who showed no signs of relinquishing the job during his rookie year, then traded Cassel to Buffalo in the offseason. The Bills traded him to Dallas earlier this year, following Romo's injury.

Cassel said last week that he feels prepared with the Cowboys offense and ready to go.

At 33, Cassel is experienced. He has thrown for 15,727 yards with 96 touchdown passes and 70 interceptions. In 2008, Cassel took over for injured Tom Brady and led the Patriots to a 10-5 record, but missed the playoffs.

In addition to Buffalo, New England and Minnesota, Cassel has also spent four seasons as Kansas City's starter.
