The Wild take on the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight and four new faces will be skating for Minnesota. Greg Zanon and Mike Lundin return from injuries, and Casey Wellman and David McIntyre were called up from the team's AHL affiliate in Houston.

Wild reassigns four defensemen to Houston

The Minnesota Wild’s season came to an end on Saturday but four of its defensemen were reassigned to the Houston Aeros of the AHL. Marco Scandella, Nate Prosser, Chey Genoway and Kris Fredheim are eligible to play the rest of the season, and playoffs if the Aeros reach the postseason.

Wild sends Hackett back to minors

Wild goaltender Josh Harding has recovered from a whiplash injury and is ready to resume playing. That means Matt Hackett's time with the Wild is over for the time being. Hackett, who stopped 76-of-78 shots in two games, was sent back to the team's AHL affiliate in Houston.

Wild reassigns Palmieri to Houston

The Minnesota Wild reassigned forward Nick Palmieri to their AHL affiliate in Houston Sunday. In nine games with the Wild Palmieri hasn't played with much consistency. Head coach Mike Yeo doesn't want Palmieri to "worry about anything except being a hockey player."

Wild sends Scandella back to Houston

Marco Scandella was informed Monday that he was being sent back to the Wild's AHL affiliate in Houston. Head coach Mike Yeo said Scandella "shrunk" a little bit after each mistake he's made during the Wild's slump. Yeo hopes a trip back to the minors will help Scandella's confidence.

Zanon and Lundin ready to re-join Wild

The banged up Minnesota blue line is getting healthier. Greg Zanon and Mike Lundin are both set to re-join the Wild soon. A groin injury has kept Zanon out since October 20. Lundin hasn't played in a game this season because of back spasms.

Wild send Zanon to Bruins for Kampfer

Wild defenseman Greg Zanon is reportedly headed to the Boston Bruins in exchange for Steven Kampher, who also plays defense. Zanon has been with the Wild since the start of the 2008 season. Kampher, 23, was a rookie with the Stanley Cup champs last year.

After dropping two straight at home to Edmonton and Calgary, the Minnesota Wild hope to turn things around tonight at the X against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Wild have yet to lose three straight games this season.

The Minnesota Wild snapped a two game losing streak with a 3-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning Monday night at Xcel Energy Center. Cal Clutterbuck scored a short-handed goal, and Pierre Marc-Bouchard scored the eventual game-winner. Niklas Backstrom earned the win in goal.
