St. Scholastica and UMD come together tonight at the Gangelhoff Center in St. Paul for NSIC bragging rights and the nation's top spot in Division II volleyball.

The Bulldogs, the top rated team in the country, and the Golden Bears, the nation's No. 2 team, meet for the first time this season. The two teams will come together in their last conference match of the year November 16 as well when Concordia travels to Duluth.

The undefeated Bulldogs (12-0, 3-0) are led by senior Kate Lange of Hibbing, who leads Division II volleyball in kills per set at 5.53. She is second among active players in career kills, trailing the leader by just four despite far fewer attempts.

The one-loss Golden Bears, who went down to conference foe Wayne State earlier this year three sets to one, will counter with first team All-Americans Kayla Koenecke, a right side hitter, and setter Amanda Konetchy, the only two returning starters from last year's squad.

The ball goes up at 7 p.m. in the clash of the NSIC's top teams, a conference that also features the aforementioned #8 Wayne State, and #9 Southwest Minnesota State.
