The competitive fires were still burning for goaltender Hope Solo following the early exit for the U.S. Women's Soccer team from the Rio Olympics.
During a post game interview Solo didn't hold back exactly what she thought following the 4-3 shootout loss to Sweden.
"I thought we played a courageous game. I thought we had many opportunities on goal. I think we showed a lot of heart. We came back from a goal down. I'm very proud of this team," Solo said after the game. "But I also think we played a bunch of cowards. The best team did not win today. I strongly believe that."
It was a must win game for the U.S., so that means that for the first time in the history of Olympic women's soccer the U.S. did not medal.
Here was Solo's full statement.
