A man has been sentenced to more than 28 years in prison for shooting two men as they left Target Field following a Twins game.

James Davis, 28, of Brooklyn Center, was found guilty last month of two counts of attempted murder for the benefit of the gang, following the double shooting outside Target Field on April 12, 2014.

Hennepin County Attorney's Office say that Davis was sentenced to 186 months in prison for shooting Kibbie Walker and 153 for shooting Cortez Blakemore, with the sentences to be served consecutively.

Walker and Blakemore were leaving their new job cleaning up after a Twin night game just before 3 a.m., the attorney's office said in a news release.

As they walked out of the left field gate, three men in hooded sweatshirts confronted them and began shooting. Blakemore was seriously injured when a bullet hit his spinal cord.

Investigators found that the feud was between two gangs, with Davis a member of the 1-9s and Walker a member of the Taliban.

Walker told police that prior to the shooting, he had made a YouTube video mocking the killing of 1-9s leader Tyrone Washington.
