The Gophers men's hockey team is the No. 1 team in the land once again.

Don Lucia's team jumped two spots up to claim the top spot in the latest USA Hockey/USA Hockey Magazine poll released Monday. They did the same in the poll.

Minnesota swept a pair of games at Bemidji State over the weekend. They cruised to a 6-3 win Friday and a 5-1 victory Saturday.

According to the Pioneer Press, the Gophers received 24 of 35 first-place votes. No. 2 Notre Dame, whom Lucia's son Mario plays for, garnered five first-place votes.

Gophers forward Sam Warning is off to an incredibly hot start. His nine points through two weekends of hockey is tied for the most in the nation.

Minnesota is back at home Friday when they host No. 4 Boston College.
