Rachel Banham scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Gophers women's basketball team over the University of North Dakota 57-47, Wednesday afternoon at "The Barn."

The Gophers recovered after being held to five points in the second quarter to win it down the stretch.

Banham led four Gophers who finished in double figures. Mikayla Bailey added 11, while Carlie Wagner and Jessie Edwards each chipped in 10.

Mia Loyd had a double-double to lead the Fighting Hawks. She finished with 16 points and 12 boards. Loyd's efforts led North Dakota to a big 46-34 rebounding advantage over Minnesota – their night included 19 offensive rebounds.

"We definitely need to work in that area, definitely," Bailey told reporters after the game. "We work every day in practice, working on our rebounding so it's an area were focusing on. We're going to work on that for Big Ten and it's going to get a lot better."
