The Minnesota Gophers football team has added another receiver to their recruiting class.

Multiple sources are reporting that Desmond Gant, of East Aurora High School, in Illinois, became the fourth receiver to sign to play for the Gophers.

According to the Chicago Sun Times, Gant had to wait until after graduation before signing to be sure he made it through the NCAA clearinghouse to be eligible.

Gant at 6-foot-3, 200-pounds, joins Isaiah Gentry from Cincinnati, Melvin Holland Jr. from Virginia and Connor Krizancic from Mentor High School in Ohio, who have signed with the Gophers.

"He's a hard-nosed coach," Gant told the Aurora Beacon News, about Kill. "It seems like he'll keep me on task. He's a no-BS typer person and I like that."

Gant was an honorable mention Class 8A All-State defensive back, who also played wide receiver. He caught three touchdowns and returned three kicks for touchdowns as well. Gant caught the attention of Kill and his staff at a one-day camp last summer.

The Pioneer Press reports his signing gives the Gophers nine receivers on the 2014 roster who are 6-2 or taller.

Gant likely won't help Minnesota's recruiting class rankings, he has been given no stars from Yahoo.com and 247sports.com. According to the Pioneer Press, that's obviously because neither site has evaluated him.

Gant has arrived on campus and has moved into his dorm. He also received interest from Iowa State and Northern Illinois.
