The Gophers men's basketball team crushed North Dakota 92-56 Monday night at Williams Arena.

Minnesota, which was playing a little short-handed after the news that freshman forward Josh Martin was immediately transferring out of the university, didn't show any ill effects.

DeAndre Mathieu became the first Gopher since 2010 to post a points and assists double-double with 15 points and 10 assists.

Maurice Walker led all with a career-high 22 points. Walker also grabbed seven rebounds. Carlos Morris also got into the action. He chipped in with 14 points, including a pair of three-pointers.

Freshman Nate Mason also contributed with 11 points, eight assists and six steals.

The Gophers built a 17-point first-half lead and never let their foot off the pedal in the second half. They ran away with things down the stretch by outscoring North Dakota 49-30 in the second half.

Minnesota (7-2) hosts Southern on Wednesday night.
