After two straight losses, the basketball Gophers are no longer a top 10 team.

The Associated Press reports the Gophers dropped from No. 9 to No. 12 in Monday's rankings by The AP.

The drop comes on the heels of the Gophers' loss at Williams Arena to then-No. 5 Michigan Thursday night, 83-75.

Michigan vaulted to No. 2 in the rankings Monday.

Thirty-nine journalists in the 65-member media panel voted to move Duke back to No. 1 after dropping to No. 2 for a week. Last week's No. 1 team Louisville dropped to fifth.

The Gophers will try to end their skid Wednesday at Northwestern.
