The Gophers couldn't hit the broad side of a barn in Sunday's 70-52 loss to the No. 11 Michigan State Spartans at Williams Arena in Minneapolis.

Daniel Oturu led Minnesota with 19 points and six rebounds, but only two other Gophers scored in double figures: Gabe Kalscheur scored 15 and Marcus Carr had 11 points, although he made just 3-of-14 shots.

As a team, Minnesota shot 28.6 percent (16-of-57) and 5-of-28 from three (17.9 percent).

With the loss, the Gophers fall to 11-9 overall and 5-5 in the Big Ten. They'll have another chance to earn a big conference victory Thursday when they play at No. 21 Illinois at 6:30 p.m. (the game will be televised on FS1).

Mathew Goldstein will have more from inside the locker room. Check back soon.
