It took three overtimes, but the Gophers women's hockey team beat the University of North Dakota 3-2 Saturday at Ridder Arena to keep their winning streak alive and advance to the Frozen Four next weekend, the Star Tribune reports.

The Gophers' Kelly Terry scored the winning goal at 18:51 in third overtime period to secure the win.

The win put the Gophers at 39-0-0 for the season and 47-0-0 dating back to last year.

The U of M's Hannah Brandt scored at 0:52 in the first period to give the Gophers an early lead Saturday, but UND's Ashley Furia scored at 14:52 to even up the score.

UND jumped out to a 2-1 lead early in the second period thanks to a goal by Meghan Dufault, but the Gophers answered with a goal by Amanda Kessel at 16:00.

The teams remained tied through the third period and first two overtimes, until Terry's winning goal with just 1:09 left in the third overtime.

The Frozen Four kicks off next Friday at Ridder Arena, where the No. 1 seed Gophers will take on No. 4 Boston College.
