Two Minnesota Gopher hockey players have been named Stars of the Week by the Big Ten.

Justin Kloos and Hudson Fasching were named the Big Ten First Star of the Week and Big Ten Second Star of the Week, respectively, as they helped lead the Gophers to a sweep of Ohio State in Columbus last weekend.

The juniors combined for eight points (four goals, four assists) as Minnesota claimed sole possession of first place in the Big Ten.

Kloos tallied three points (two goals, one assist) in Friday's 5-4 overtime victory over the Buckeyes. He also picked up an assist on Fasching's shorthanded goal to open Saturday's 4-3 Gopher victory.

Kloos has an 11 game point streak – a career-long for the Lakeville native. His streak began on Jan. 9 and since then he leads the nation in scoring with 23 points. It is the fourth time in his career that he's won a conference Star of the Week award – the first this season.

Fasching's big night was Saturday. He factored into Minnesota's first three goals, scoring two of them and assisting on the other.

It's the seventh time in the Burnsville native's career that he's won a Star of the Week award – his third of the season.

Minnesota returns to Mariucci Arena to host Michigan this weekend.
