The Minnesota Gophers dominated the Iowa Hawkeyes at TCF Bank Stadium Saturday afternoon, winning 51-14 and returning the Floyd of Rosedale trophy to Minnesota.

It was the Gophers's second "trophy" win of the season. Last month they defeated Michigan to bring home the Little Brown Jug; it's the first time Minnesota has won both those trophies since 1967, the Star Tribune reports.

In 1967, they also won the trophy game with Wisconsin and captured Paul Bunyan's Axe. In three weeks they go for the trophy sweep again as they play the Badgers in Madison.

Tight end Maxx Williams had a huge day for the Gophers, scoring three touchdowns off passes from quarterback Mitch Leidner.

Leidner completed 10 of 13 passes for 138 yards and also threw a 44-yard TD pass to Donovahn Jones early in the second quarter.

The Hawkeyes scored first on the opening drive of the game to take an early 7-0 lead. The Gophers then took over and scored 51 consecutive points, before giving up a late touchdown with just 14 seconds left in the game.

Minnesota ran one last play with 9 seconds left, and as the clock expired the Gopher players ran over to the Iowa sideline to reclaim the Floyd of Rosedale trophy, and fans flooded onto the field. The trophy had been in Iowa for the past two years.

With the win, the Gophers (7-2, 4-1 Big Ten) shook off their disappointing loss to Illinois two weeks ago and have regained some momentum going into their last three games of the season – against tough opponents Ohio State, Nebraska and Wisconsin.
