Minnesota Gophers 64

The Purdue Boilermakers held off the Minnesota Gophers for a 68-64 victory at Williams Arena, Wednesday night.

1. Losing streak reaches 10

The Gophers have now lost 10 straight, and are 0-9 in the Big Ten. Minnesota remains at the bottom of the league's standings, joining Rutgers as the only two winless teams in the Big Ten.

One of Wednesday's glaring missed opportunities: the Gophers were just 11-of-21 from the foul line.

2. Slow start hampers Minnesota

Neither team was sharp out of the gate, but the Gophers really struggled in the early going. Despite forcing seven turnovers in the first part of the first half, the Gophers still found a way to fall behind by double-digits.

Of course maybe the slow start offensively shouldn't be a surprise for Minnesota. The Gophers came into Wednesday night's contest averaging just 69 points a game – one of the lowest scoring teams in the Big Ten.

3. Mason making plays

Gophers guard Nate Mason had a double-double in the loss. Mason finished with 15 points to go with a career-high 12 assists for Minnesota.

The sophomore's numbers were impressive, but it wasn't enough for the Gophers.
